Marion was planning a gap year after A-level maths, biology & chemistry, and then something extraordinary happened… funding at Mount Holyoke College in The States – for 4 years!
Marion is one of 22 high-achieving students graduating from Pestalozzi International Village this year – with a part-funded scholarship. Mount Holyoke chose from two candidates. According to Pestalozzi, “she was just in absolute shock as she had no idea that an offer like this would be on the table. It has taken a few days for the news to sink in.” Some matched funding combined with a loan will ensure Marion pursues her love of biology & chemistry to applied biology or biochemistry in years 3 & 4 of her degree course. As for funding for books and equipment, that’s ‘still in the air’, but Quicken Trust is funding her travel to Massachusetts.
Besides academic excellence, what will Marion find at this ‘liberal arts’ college across ‘The Pond’? “An increasingly diverse, global, and inclusive community of students, faculty, and staff in an environment of mutual respect in which all thrive and contribute to the flourishing of others.”
The path to this life-changing opportunity started years back at Trust High School Kabubbu – of course!
