TRUST HIGH SCHOOL

We had not intended to progress to a secondary school because of the substantial costs involved - many times greater than for a primary school.
But what do you do when a child has successfully completed sponsored primary education and gained a positive education that puts them among the highest educational achievers in the District? Tell them to go back to growing enough vegetables to live from?
Trust High School was opened in February 2006 by the Minister of Education, Hon Geraldine Bitamazire, for those orphans completing their primary education at KCPS. It started with 90 children many of them from fee-paying families from Kampala who had heard about the excellent examination results of the primary school.
Currently over 400 students attend of whom almost half will be sponsored. They receive a full education, two meals a day, school uniform and free healthcare. This equals £34 per month sponsorship because of the greater cost of necessary resources than for the primary school.
Thanks to generous sponsors they are enjoying an education that they could not afford.
Secondary education lasts for six years. If you can help support a child we would ask you to consider doing so for the duration of their education so that they can fully benefit.
The building work is on-going with installation of a satellite broadband link, science laboratories, a computer suite and a full library. Dormitories have been built for children of fee-paying Kampala residents.
Please, can you help provide more orphans and destitute families with a vital education - the key to the future for these children?
