A choir of 13 orphans visited the UK in October 2009 to say 'Thank You' on behalf of their community and, in particular, to families, schools, clubs and businesses on behalf of the 450 sponsored orphans at school in Kabubbu. It was the experience of a lifetime for them.

It was the first time many had travelled further than a few miles from Kabubbu. They came from a destitute rural village to a strange culture filled with so many things they could never have back home. But they brought with them something so many here are seeking to find - lives filled with hope and joy!

And for a few moments in schools and businesses, out on the streets and at concerts they filled the air with their joy and their exuberant singing and dancing to the beat of their drums. They willingly gave us so much more than they received.

This CD brings together a collection of some of the songs they brought to schools and to their concerts and expresses a dynamic love of life despite their circumstances.

The common greeting in Kabubbu is "How was the night for you?" In a country with over 1 million orphans the question is a serious one. These children from Kabubbu have known the pain of seeing their parents not live through the night. But still they have hope.

Their life is hard. They get up when the cock crows at around 5.00am. They have to collect water in 20 litre containers for the families they live with from a stream or borehole that could be more than a mile away. They have to sweep their compound and light a fire that will be used for cooking. Then they have to walk to school which may take two hours. But they value education as their hope for a better life.

They invite you to share in their lives - and despite their hardships - their hope and joy. Thank you for helping us to remember 'The Forgotten People'.
